Today’s post is sponsored by Lemi Shine, by my love for their powerful and safe cleaning products is all my own!
It’s Spring and that means it’s time to do a little Spring Cleaning! After months of colder weather it’s nice to open the windows, get some fresh air and do a thorough cleaning of your home. Sometimes the thought of Spring Cleaning can be a bit overwhelming though. It’s easy to feel like you don’t have time for it all, especially when the weather is nice and you want to get outside too. To make your cleaning easier this season…
Here’s 5 Cleaning Mistakes We All Make (But Don’t Have To!) :
Trying To Do It All By Yourself. This isn’t just for Spring Cleaning… everyday household cleaning can be exhausting when you are trying to do it all yourself! Your spouse and your children (all ages) can help. Assign everyone just 1 age appropriate chore to do each day or on a busy Spring Cleaning day and you’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish together. Younger children are often thrilled at the idea of helping out! My youngest can hardly contain her excitement when she knows we are going to be cleaning windows! 🙂
This will also teach your children the importance of working together and taking pride in your home. Age appropriate chores for children can be washing walls, dusting, cleaning sinks, vacuuming furniture or emptying garbage baskets.
Not Loving Your Cleaning Products. I always feel good after I clean, but I really enjoy cleaning even more when I’m using products I love. Right now my family is really enjoying the Lemi Shine Product Line. These products powerful and safe! They leave my home smelling fresh and clean too!
Lemi Shine products are highly effective and powered by 100% natural citric extracts. They’re non-toxic, biodegradable and septic system friendly.
Lemi Shine Concentrated Dish Soap is my favorite! It smells amazing & doesn’t dry out my already dry hands. It easily cuts grease with long-lasting suds, even if you have hard water. The convenient flip and click cap container is nice too.
Lemi Shine Dishwasher Detergent works hard to clean your dishes with enzymatic agitation to break down even the most stubborn food residue and rinses it away easily. You don’t have to worry about pre-rinsing or pre-soaking dirty dishes, glasses, pots and pans. It even cleans 48-hour stuck on food! I find myself looking for things to wipe down with a soapy wash cloth because this smells so great & easily makes my whole kitchen shine!
Sometimes hard water leaves your clean dishes with a lackluster appearance. Using Lemi Shine Detergent Booster in every wash solves this problem. It works hard to remove spots, stains, and film during the main wash cycle leaving dishes shiny & clean.
Lemi Shine Glass + Surface Cleaner is a must have in our house! It creates an invisible barrier shielding surfaces from dust, fingerprints, and water spots which we desperately need here at our house with 4 kiddos, a cat & a dog who loves to put his nose right up against our patio door all day long!
Lemi Shine Shower + Tile Cleaner really helps me keep our glass shower doors looking perfect! It uses natural citric extracts and foaming action to dissolve soap scum, hard water buildup and grime while a naturally-derived polymer creates an invisible barrier preventing new buildup.
To maintain our busy Dishwasher & Garbage Disposal, I use Lemi Shine Garbage Disposal Cleaner to deodorize and scrub away odor causing buildup to leave my sink clean and fresh along with the Lemi Shine Dishwasher Cleaner to keep that working it’s best as well!

Working Too Fast. Take your time. I know that you’ve got other things to do, but if you take your time now, you’ll do a better job and won’t have to redo the chore again. Make your time count! Schedule only 1 big chore each day and spread other chores out throughout the week to get everything done.
Vacuuming is a perfect example- I always hear people say, “Oh, I just have to vacuum real quick…” No matter how good or expensive your vacuum is or how special the model is and what the box says it’s suppose to accomplish- it’s not going to do it at 60 mph! Push your vacuum slowly across your carpet and let the brushes go through the carpet well as you pull the vacuum back towards you. You shouldn’t break a sweat & look like a hot mess because you’ve rushed through it. You’ll be amazed at what you will pick up too if you take it slow! In the long run it will probably only take you 5 extra minutes.
Not Having a Schedule. You don’t have to have a schedule that’s written in stone to be successful at keeping a clean house. Sometimes school activities or work pop up and you might not get a certain chore done in the time or even day you have allotted for it. Be flexible while still making those chores a priority. Consider having 1 day to just clean bathrooms, one day to dust, one day to wipe mirrors and windows, etc….
Having Unrealistic Expectations. Your house is not always going to be picture perfect. If you have children and pets, you’ll have to figure out a cleaning schedule that works for your family and that makes you happy. Figure out which chores are a priority. Everyone has to clean, but remember that the importance of a clean (spotless) house should not interfere with your house feeling like a home!
Happy Spring Cleaning!
