If you are looking for a quick, easy meal tonight, then try this delicious Baked Spaghetti. This a simple, satisfying meal that’s a cinch to make even on a busy week night. This meal generally serves 6-8, but even though our children are small, we never seem to have any leftovers. This Baked Spaghetti is freezer friendly too! Just prepare as usual, top with cheese and parsley and freeze unbaked. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and bake like usual for dinner the next night. You’ve got to love a tasty meal that can be on the table in less than an hour. This recipe is slightly adapted from a recipe I found in the The Deen Bros. Y’all Come Eat Cookbook. This Cookbook is full of meals that are perfect for busy days that you just don’t feel like spending all day in the kitchen, but still want to put a good homemade meal on the table for your family.
Ingredients
- 1 lb. spaghetti
- 1 Tbsp. extra virgin olive oil
- 1 lb. 80 % ground beef
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. dried oregano
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 (26- 32 oz.) jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce
- 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan Cheese
- 2 cups freshly grated Mozzarella Cheese
- 1/2 Tbsp. dried parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Add the spaghetti and cook according to the package directions and drain.
- Set aside.
- In a large pot, heat the oil over medium-high heat.
- Brown the beef and break it up as it cooks until no pink remains.
- Drain excess fat.
- Add the salt, pepper and oregano.
- Stir in the spaghetti sauce, Parmesan, and the cooked spaghetti.
- Transfer to a 9 x 13 baking dish.
- Top evenly with the freshly grated Mozzarella Cheese.
- Sprinkle with the dried parsley.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
- I like to cut this like lasagna.
- Serve this with a fresh salad and bread.
- Serves 6-8.
- *To freeze, prepare as usual (except I like to add 32 oz. of sauce when freezing instead of 26 oz.), but do not bake.
- Cover and store in the freezer.
- When ready to eat, defrost overnight and bake as usual the next day.
