My family loves pizza! On Saturdays or for a big game, it’s a fun family meal. Ordering out can get pretty expensive though, especially if you have a large family like ours. A few months ago, I was at the grocery store and I came across a marked down bakery cart. There were all sorts of sweets, rolls and breads marked down because they expired that day or the next. Among the breads were quite a few loaves of french bread. They had regular and multi grain. I grabbed a few of them and thought it would be fun to make our own french bread pizzas out of them. I didn’t know how they would turn out, but being that the ingredients were fairly inexpensive, I thought I would give it a shot. Well, those cheese & pepperoni french bread pizzas we had that night were fantastic! I used a jarred sauce, plenty of Mozzarella cheese and pepperoni and baked it in the oven for 12 minutes. That 1 loaf (I froze the other loaves for a different day) fed our whole family! We have been hooked on these pizzas for a quick, weekend meal ever since.
Now, we live about an hour from Buffalo, NY and if there is one thing we Western New Yorkers love besides our sports teams, it’s Buffalo Chicken Wings. There are many pizza places around here that serve a Buffalo Chicken Wing or Buffalo Chicken Finger Pizza, so I decided to made my very own Buffalo Chicken Finger French Bread Pizza. Yum! I spread a layer of bleu cheese dressing (chicken wings and chicken fingers go with Bleu cheese around these parts- not ranch 🙂 ) on top of a split loaf of french bread, topped it with bleu cheese crumbles, Mozzarella cheese, a layer of sliced Buffalo Style Chicken Fingers drizzled with hot sauce, a little more cheese and popped it in a hot oven. When it came out of the oven, I drizzled a tiny bit more hot sauce on top of the pizza, sliced it and served it with celery and carrots. It was great! This pizza can be sliced into smaller portions and served on Game Day! The flavor combinations are endless when it comes to making your own French Bread Pizzas and your family will have fun making them too. You can even get creative and serve multiple flavored pizzas for the Big Game! The next time you are at the grocery store, grab a loaf of french bread and try this spicy Buffalo Chicken Finger French Bread Pizza!

Shannon, I love your creation! You found a great buy in that shopping basket… I never find anything like bread. (Of course, my town’s little market NEVER even has bread on the shelves!) My boys LOVE french bread pizzas. We are going to have to make this one!
