use Walkers Assorted Shortbread to create these simple but delightful
Dark Chocolate Peppermint Shortbread Cookies!
Ingredients
- 1 (8.8 oz.) box Walkers Pure Butter Assorted Shortbread
- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 3 large peppermint candy canes
Instructions
- Line a cookie sheet with waxed paper.
- Place the candy canes in a plastic baggie and smash them with a mallet.
- In a small sauce pan, melt the dark chocolate chips on low heat, stirring constantly and being careful not to burn.
- Dip the Walkers Shortbread evenly into the melted dark chocolate half way.
- Set the dipped shortbread onto the waxed paper lined cookie sheet and sprinkle with the crushed candy cane.
- Continue with the remaining shortbread.
- Set in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes to harden.
- Store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
- I like to keep mine in a container in the refrigerator until I am ready to serve them because my kitchen gets warm this time of year with all of the Holiday baking:)
