Last year my younger sister received her college degree and moved 12 hours away to South Carolina. While I was so excited for her to start out on a new journey, I knew I was really, really going to miss her. I was right. I did! We all did. She actually visited us when we were vacationing in Florida this Spring and of course we’ve spent time Face Timing with one another, so that’s nice. When she let me know she would be home at the beginning of June to walk across the stage for her college’s annual graduation I was so excited! I was excited to celebrate my sister and all of her accomplishments, spend a little quality sister time together and share a bottle of Middle Sister Wine.
Have you heard of Middle Sister Wines before? I found the wine a few months ago when I had a few extra minutes to browse around and I knew it would be perfect for the weekend my sister was coming home. Crafted by award-winning winemaker Nancy Walker (a middle sister herself), Middle Sister Wines offers a wide variety of delicious red, white and sparkling wines from California & Argentina. They are affordable (you can even grab a bottle at most Target stores), delicious and fun. Each bottle is named after “a sister” and the names and personalities are fun too. You can buy a bottle for a Sisters or Girls Only Night type get together and figure out which sister you are.
The Middle Sister brand is based on a series of quirky “Middle Sister” characters who each have their own personality. The various sisters are engaging and entertaining. Middle Sister also just received a brand makeover and now features “Drops of Wisdom” which are a dose of inspiration right on the front label. Make sure you check them out on your next trip to the store!
The night before my sister’s graduation we had family over to celebrate my son’s birthday. The weather was nice and so we held the party outdoors. After we were all finished with the food, gifts and birthday cupcakes, and extended family had left, my husband helped clean up our kiddos so I could spend sometime with my sister. We opened a bottle of Middle Sister Mischief Maker Cabernet Sauvignon, enjoyed the cooler evening breeze out on our deck and just talked. It was so nice!
Even though I couldn’t attend the actual graduation because my daughter had a special concert, I made sure my family sent me pictures. I couldn’t have been more proud of her. The weekend was short, but I’m so happy I was able to celebrate this milestone in her life with her. Since I bought a handful of Middle Sister Wines, I sent her home with one so we could “share” a bottle together while we chat on FaceTime in the future.
You don’t have to wait for a special occasion to celebrate or enjoy time with your sister. Grab a bottle of your favorite Middle Sister Wine, even pick up a few different ones to try and spend time with the people you love. Celebrate life and the fact that the most important things in your life are simply your family.
