Our everyday routine seems to be the same around our house lately. It’s the end of the school year and almost the beginning of summer, so with several activities going on at school and around our home- it’s busy. We stick to a pretty good schedule too. We get up, get a bowl of cereal and a cold glass of milk and our day begins. The days are going by so fast though. I decided to make a change and over the next few weeks, I’m going off of our normal routine a bit and challenging myself to #MilkLife!
Continuing now until June 10th, you can head over to Milk Life’s Facebook Page and see what the Challenge of the Day is! Each challenge lasts only 24 hours, so really #MilkLife and live in the moment! If you missed a few challenges, you can always go back and double up on them. They are fun, inspiring and will make you feel great!
Starting off strong in the morning is also important. Just (1) 8 oz. glass of milk has 9 essential nutrients, including 8 grams of high-quality protein to help you start your morning off right. I make sure that my children and myself get that glass of milk in first thing, whether it’s with our cereal, a smoothie or with fruit and toast. Milk’s protein at breakfast can help you and your family make the most out of every day and prepare you for your own #MilkLife Challenge!
Milk Life Challenge #12 was to Freshen Up! To make a point of getting outside in this warmer weather with your children and enjoy your favorite activities together. My kiddos love to be outside. My boys love to play basketball and shoot hoops, my youngest loves to run around in the yard, and we all enjoy a good game of kickball.
This of year has me a little preoccupied with other things like my garden, or getting my home cleaned, inside and out for the upcoming summer. I sometimes forget that I too can get right in on outdoor playtime! This challenge was perfect for me, because I needed to #MilkLife and embrace some of this time I have with my children while they are young.
Before dinner, I headed outside, enjoyed the fresh air and really played! I realized in that moment that I don’t always need to be an observer. As a parent I can get right in there and roll around on the grass, play kickball and participate in one of their homemade obstacle courses too. It’s great for my children to see that fun, child like side of me and taking time out like this everyday as they are growing up is something they are going to remember forever!
Today’s Challenge – Milk Life Challenge #19 is to Stretch Your Workout by 10 Minutes! I woke up to a beautiful sunny sky and a refreshing breeze this morning and as soon as my older children were off to school, I laced up my sneakers and went for a walk. Extending my walk today was easy and now I am ready for the day & the weekend! How are you going to extend your workout today and #MilkLife?
With the weekend ahead, it’s the perfect time to make a promise to yourself and complete a #MilkLife Challenge and get the whole family involved too!
