Happy Valentine’s Day! I hope your day is filled with love & happiness. This year I wanted to start a Valentine’s Day tradition with my family. I wanted everyone to write down a few reasons why we love each person in our family so much. I cut a bunch of little hearts out of construction paper and gave each member of the family 1 heart for each member of the family. We wrote the person’s name on the back of the heart and why we love that person so much on the inside of the heart. I loved watching my children thinking about thoughtful things they could write in their hearts. We then folded the hearts back up and put them into the jar. Tonight after our Valentine’s Day Dinner, we will empty the jar, pass out everyone’s hearts and read what each family member wrote. I wanted everyone to feel how loved & special they are to everyone else in the family. This doesn’t have to be just a Valentine’s Day activity either. This can be done any time of the year and it doesn’t have to be a special occasion to tell the ones you love why you love them so much! Does your family have any special traditions for Valentine’s Day?
