Welcome to June guys! I can’t believe it’s June already! My children go to school pretty much until the end of the month, so I’ve busy preparing for the crazy house full of kiddos I’ll have in a few more weeks. I did a little Freezer Cooking the other day to help stock up for those “Mom, I’m hungry” moments that happen a lot when they play outside and run around all day. I’m excited about spending time with all of my children this summer at home and while we visit some fun and interesting places together over the next few months. I was also very excited Friday when my Stitch Fix arrived! My summer wardrobe usually features stretchy capris and t-shirts, so I was really looking forward to some cute pieces for this warmer weather!
If Stitch Fix is new to you, let me fill you in on the important and fun details! Stitch Fix is a personal styling service that ships hand picked items to your doorstep. When you head over to stitchfix.comand sign up for a “fix”, you fill out your style profile and choose a day you would like to receive your fix. When you schedule your fix ( I schedule one per month, but you can do more or less), you are charged a $20 styling fee. When your Stitch Fix arrives, you have 3 days to try everything on and decide what items you would like to keep and which items you would like to send back in the enclosed prepaid envelope. You don’t have to lose your $20 styling fee either! You can apply that towards any purchase! If you love and purchase your whole “Fix” you get 25% too! You can check out my past “Fixes”, HERE —-> January, February, March, April & May.
So Here’s My June Stitch Fix:
Eliana Embellished Detail Dolman Top $54
I loved this top as soon as I opened the box! I was just keeping my fingers crossed that it would look okay on me. The color is so pretty, soft and pastel and the beading isn’t too over the top! This is so nice to have when you want to dress casual, but yet not look frumpy. Definitely one of my favorite pieces!
The Verdict: Kept
Papermoon Remmie Ikat Print Maxi Skirt $58
First, let me start by saying this skirt was extremely comfortable. Like so comfortable you could go to bed in it if you wanted! I do like blues, but I wasn’t too crazy about the pattern. I know I wouldn’t be looking at it head on if I was wearing this, but it almost made me dizzy. This did roll at the top like a yoga pant would, but it was still a little long and I couldn’t get the “roll” to stay. I had a feeling that if I kept this, it may just sit in my closet, even though the pictures of this outfit here may look cute.
The Verdict: Sent Back
4Hawthorn Iris Striped A-Line Skirt $58
Okay. I sort of cringed a bit when I saw there were 2 skirts in this fix. I guess I don’t feel super comfortable in skirts, but I was still excited to try them on. This one has almost like a canvas type feel, but the top was a stretchy, comfy material. This could be worn casually or dressed up a bit and I did love the colors. What you don’t see in this picture is that I could NOT zip up the zipper all of the way in the back. (My 12 year old thought this was hilarious by the way 😉 ) I did search this skirt in other people’s fixes and it seems to be a common problem with this skirt, so if you get this in your fix, don’t feel bad. It’s not just you! I have been walking a lot lately and I’ve shed a few pounds, but did I want to pay for this and leave it hanging in my closet until I lost 5 more?
The Verdict: Sent Back
41Hawthorn McQue Solid Lace Sleeve Blouse $48
I love lace. A little here and there, not all over and this blouse was perfect. I love navy, and even though I wave a similar long sleeved blouse in navy from my very first fix that I never shared, I figured this was great for warmer months. I love a piece that looks dressed up without being over the top and this one is hand wash, not dry clean. Bonus!
The Verdict: Kept
41Hawthorn Will Bomber Jacket $74
I am not a huge fan of jackets that look poofy or have the name bomber in them. I also don’t like elastic at the bottom of my tops or jackets either. I thought I would hate this when I put it on, and well…I didn’t hate it. I really liked the color for a jacket, because I don’t have anything like it. I went to put my hand in the pocket…guess what? Faux pockets! They might be cute, but they weren’t practical for this mother of 4! Sure there were pockets on the front on the chest, but I doubt placing my keys in there would look very attractive. I zipped this up and it looked horrible. Too busty and not flattering at all. I didn’t even post that picture. I rolled these sleeves, but they had clunky zippers that were a bit awkward for me. I’m sure this is really cute for someone who’s tall and thin with some worn out skinny jeans and a great pair of ankle boots, but was just not for me:(
The Verdict: You guessed it! Sent back
Merchandise Total $54 + $48 = $102 – $20 Styling Fee = $82 Total
This month I had a different stylist because my usual stylist Kayla was out that week. Although this wasn’t my favorite “fix” ever, I think she did a pretty good job. Everyone has different tastes and this forced me to try things I would never have picked for myself or maybe my usual stylist wouldn’t have picked for me either.
If you are interested in trying out Stitch Fix for yourself this summer, feel free to sign up with my referral link HERE. Thank you so much to all of you who have signed up with it in the past! I really appreciate it:)

I’ve been looking all over Pinterest for Stitch Fix reviews from girls who are not stick figures, so thank you for putting your review out there! I have been hesitant to try it because I too have big boobs. Do they usually do a good job with sending you items that actually flatter your chest? I don’t want to try it if everything ends up being too tight in the chest! Thanks for your feedback!

Hi Alyse! I was so hesitant to start Stitch Fox too, especially sharing my fixes because I am not a size 0, but I figured, I’m a wife, mom & woman who wants to look and feel my best though. I’m glad you are enjoying the reviews:) I think if you fill out your style profile well and keep an up to date Pinterest Style Board (which your stylist will look at to get a better idea of what you like) they will do a great job. I always leave comments on what I like and don’t like and why and I don’t hold back when I checkout each month. I specifically listed that I have a larger chest and want flattering items that would work well with my curvy figure without being too much or not appropriate. They’ve been great. You should give it a try…you’ll never know unless you do! If you do- let me know how it worked out!

Hi Shannon, I’m new to Stitch Fix and am curvy like yourself but without the larger chest. I’m a bit challenged with the sizes, you look to be about the same as me, are they XL sized choices they are sending you?
Shannon says
Hi Rebecca! I started out receiving xlarge tops, but have started receiving size large over the past few months, as I have lost some weight. I hope this helps. Thanks:)
