I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Carson-Dellosa. I reviewed the free content on their website to facilitate my review and I was given a promotional item to thank me for my participation.
Summer is here and our family is excited to relax a bit and enjoy everything the summer months have to offer. From trips to the beach to camping and family time at amusement parks, my children couldn’t be more excited! Last week marked the end of the school year for them and unfortunately we started the first weekend of summer vacation with a whole bunch of rainy and chilly weather. Even though we were stuck indoors, it was the perfect time to sign up for FREE on the Carson-Dellosa Summer Learning Activities website!
Through the Carson-Dellosa website, you can help your child stay sharp through a variety of educational games, books, printable worksheets and many other activities all summer long! There are even resource guides available and certificates that you can print out for a great job done!
With 4 children at home all day, for us it’s important to have a routine. Our routine is flexible, but always includes some quiet time after lunch while my youngest takes a nap. Just 15 minutes every day helps prevent summer learning loss which will help them adjust better in the Fall when they return to school. Did you know that (Based on a survey conducted by Carson-Dellosa) 84% of teachers say students forget or “lose” some of their skills, knowledge or grade-level equivalency during summer break?
My children love the wide variety of activities available activities on the site. There are fun activities for Pre-K aged children, all the way through 8th Grade! For me that means, 1 site for all of my kiddos! 🙂 My youngest doesn’t really use the computer very often, so she felt really special doing this. She really enjoyed the Letter Safari and has asked to play it everyday since. As a parent it’s great to see the enthusiasm my kids have playing these games knowing that they are learning at the same time!
It’s easy to get everyone excited about learning too with a simple Prize Box! When one of my kiddos completes a series of activities on the site, they get to pick something from the prize box I’ve created. I write things like “a trip to the ice cream shop”, “pick a movie rental”, or “your choice of a family board game to play” on a piece of paper, fold it and place it in the box for them to draw from. It’s also fun to add summer outdoor items like bubbles, glow sticks and small toys to the box as well.
I want to encourage my children to keep thinking, keep learning and be confident. Instead of worrying about what to do when your child says, “Mom, I’m bored,” this summer, get them excited about these fun learning activities. My kids just loved it and are looking forward to more activities throughout the summer.
