My children really like the snack packs you can buy at the store that have nuts, raisins, granola, etc. I decided to make my own On The Go Snack Mix Bags to get more for my money and to make my children’s snacks for school even better. You can use any combination of items, but this is what I made mine with:
I used 1 (15 oz.) Box of a Protein/Fiber Mix Cereal, 1 (10 oz.) bag cashews, 1 (8 oz.) bag yogurt raisins, 1 (6 oz.) bag dried cranberries, and 1/2 of a (12 oz.) bag mini chocolate chips.
I put everything in a big container.
Then I mixed everything together with a plastic spatula and packed the mix into snack sized plastic baggies. I used a 1/2 cup sized measuring cup to fill each snack sized bag. This recipe made 22 snack bags and a good sized bowl for my children to snack on after they helped me make these. Do you make your own On The Go Snack Mix Bags? If so, what is your family’s favorite?
