Back in July I shared my Living Room Library Bookcase with you. It was a new piece of furniture that I received from Sauder and it really helped me bring a little style and organization to my busy living room.
When I buy a piece of furniture, I always make sure that I will be able to use it in multiple ways. It has to be versatile and work with our growing children and space.
Today I am sharing some fun ways that I have used my Sauder Bookcase in my home! I don’t know about you, but I am always moving things around and redecorating things. If you’ve got a great piece of furniture at home, then I bet you can come up with some really creative ways to use it too!
With the Holidays and colder weather right around the corner, I know we will be spending a lot of time gathering in the kitchen, warming our hands around a hot cup of coffee or tea. Sometimes my kitchen counters get crowded, so I decided that I could use my bookcase as a little coffee bar.
Since my bookcase has adjustable shelving, fitting my Keurig and a plate of fresh muffins fit onto one of the shelves with no problem! The drawer held tea and hot chocolate nicely as well. Since I now had an extra cupboard available, I decided to store my Kitchen Aid Mixer and my blender below to free up my counters even more.
Because Fall is my favorite time of year, I couldn’t help but display a pumpkin and some colorful leaves on this shelf! This cute little coffee nook adds a cozy and welcoming feel to our kitchen and allows our family and guests to have easy access to their favorite warm drinks any time of day.
Another great way I can use this shelf, is in my daughter’s bedroom. My 2 girls love American Girl and we have quite the collection! There are days that the girls get their dolls out and play all day. The only problem is that it can be a little messy.
This bookcase was the perfect solution to our doll mess! We displayed their favorite dolls (that they change from time to time) on the shelves which was nice because they were put away neat and tidy. It also looked nice when you walked into the room and they were easily accessible. The lowest shelf was used to display the play set they were most recently playing with. I know it’s only October, but my girls are really into their Holiday Gingerbread Set! They can play with it right on the shelf and it almost creates a room for the dolls like a dollhouse.
We used the drawer for some of their shoes, mini dolls and other accessories. The bottom cupboard was used for extra clothing, games and of course the doll’s horse!
I truly love this bookshelf because no matter what space I put it in, it provides a beautiful look and most importantly some organization.
