Good Morning! It’s Wednesday and we are halfway through the week. I hope it’s been a great one for you so far! Monday I shared a few reasons why our family saves BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION™ For A Brighter Future and how easy it really is to do. The beginning of the school year is always a really good time to start to because you can begin to make it part of your new routine & Walmart offers BONUS Box Tops on select General Mills® products too! What works really well at our house is if we challenge ourselves. Today I’m sharing our Fun Box Tops Family Challenge with you!
Our BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION™ Family Challenge is really simple to set up and it gets my kiddos really excited about collecting the Box Tops for school. I get out 3 chalkboard tags and tie or tape them to a larger sized mason jar. Then we all come up with a few fun family activities that we would like to do together in the near future and write them on the tags. I assign an amount of Box Tops to collect for each activity (ie. Collect 25 Box Tops for Mini Golf) then I set the jars on a shelf, in a kitchen drawer, or on your counter- wherever it is convenient and where your family will see it everyday.
Then when we come home from grocery shopping or finish a box of cereal with a Box Top on it, the person who used the item or ate the last of whatever was in the box gets to clip and put the Box Top in the jar towards their favorite activity. The activity jar that gets to the assigned number of Box Tops first is the activity out family does together. My family just loves this!
Once you’ve collected those Box Tops and done your family activity, place them in an envelope or plastic baggie and send them to school! We always count ours out and send them into school in bags labeled 25, 50, 100, Box Tops etc. to help out the nice people who are in the PTA and for others who volunteer and take time out of their days to count and redeem these.
Setting up just a little challenge in your family can make Box Top Collecting really fun! Come up with some great family activities this fall with your family and work your way towards your goals! It’s a win-win all the way around!
Did you know that you can send Box Tops into school even if you don’t have a child attending? Donate them to your local school and make a difference instead of tossing them in the trash. If you’ve got them, use them!
