Happy September! Are you excited for Fall? I know that technically the beginning of September isn’t really Fall, but my kiddos head back to school tomorrow and I am getting excited about what the new season has to offer. Colorful landscapes, crisp mornings, delicious foods and of course layers of beautiful and soft shirts, sweaters, jackets and vests! We had a little sneak peak a few weeks ago with some cooler temperatures, but this week we will still be hot and in the 80’s. That’s okay because it’s good to get my wardrobe organized ahead of time! I asked my stylist this month to send me some comfy, cozy items for the cooler weather ahead and of course she didn’t disappoint!
Here’s My September Stitch Fix:
Collective Concepts Wulf Open Cardigan $78
Love, Love, Love this sweater! I think I even squealed a little bit when I pulled it out of the box. This is what I am talking about. Cozy, comfy, pretty and an item that can be an everyday staple this season. I love layers- maybe it’s a mom thing but that’s okay. I’m a mom and I’m absolutely thrilled with this.
These are my favorite types of pieces and I am looking forward to so many more like this for Fall and Winter!
The Verdict: Kept
Skies are Blue Liffey Button Down Top $58
I loved the colors of this shirt and of course the plaid design. I think this is meant to be buttoned up (even though you can wear things how you see fit), but that unfortunately did not work out for me. The buttons near the chest area didn’t lay nice and looked like they were going to burst. đ
Wearing this shirt open would work nice since I like layers to take on and off throughout the day…but I thought the price tag was a little high.
The Verdict: Returned
Loveappella Devon Pleated Mini Skirt $38
Whoa…I guess keeping my hands in these pockets for this photo wasn’t that flattering on my hips…Oh well! You get the point though…this skirt was ridiculously comfortable! It felt like the softest t shirt you own and it was navy, one of my favorite colors. My stylist suggested that this be worn with the plaid shirt tucked in. I’m sure that would look adorable on a less curvy gal, but I looked a little bit lumpy and bumpy so I decided to try it with a casual but pretty tank. My sweet & honest little photographer (my daughter) did not like this look.
I usually don’t wear skirts, which doesn’t mean I am opposed to them. If I was out and about wearing this, a little gust of wind may give people too much a view…being comfortable in something you don’t normally wear at home is completely different than being completely comfortable in it outside the home. Maybe if we were going into summer I would be more apt to keep this, but it’s going to get chilly quick here soon.
The Verdict: Returned
Skies are Blue Sia Embroidery Peasant Top $58
I see all of these pretty, flowy tops that are really cute and I think, okay these are great! They help hide any little rolls and look nice with a lot of different things. I do think you have to be careful with the cut and design though. I just was not feeling this one.
I felt HUGE in this top! Like I gained 20 lbs or something. The cut was not flattering at all for a person with a large chest and the embroidered detail, even though it was pretty, did me no favors. Where it was made my chest look even larger. I felt like a big round ball…
It didn’t look too bad if I wore something over it, but I want to feel good wearing something by itself too.
The Verdict: Returned
Liverpool Denise Bootcut Jean $78
I love these jeans! They are so soft, stretchy, comfortable and flattered a curvier figure like mine. I don’t think I’ve ever tried on a pair of jeans or pants that I have felt so confident in. These again are a perfect example of a staple in your wardrobe. If you can find a pair of jeans you love…buy them!
If these come in any other colors (on the darker side preferably) I would buy them up too!
The Verdict: Kept
Even though I only kept 2 items from my fix this month, I was extremely pleased with what my stylist had chosen for me. Every month she tries her best to incorporate my style into modern and fashionable outfits that I can feel confident in. I appreciate how much time she spends listening to my feedback while making changes each month to ensure that my fixes are great. I can’t tell you how many emails and comments I get requesting my stylist’s name and asking how I always get the best fixes!
Thanks so much Kayla! You’re the best! đ
