These Slow Cooker BBQ Chicken Drumsticks served with Mashed Potatoes is a comforting meal that feels like Sunday Dinner. Get started by placing all of your seasonings into a large plastic container with a lid. Add your chicken drumsticks, put the lid on and shake it up! Your chicken will be perfectly seasoned and with no mess!
Lightly grease your slow cooker, add the seasoned chicken and then drizzle it with your favorite BBQ sauce. Continue by adding another layer of chicken and sauce before using the back of a spoon to spread it evenly across the top.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours. That’s it!

Ingredients
- 4-5 lbs. Chicken Drumsticks, skin on
- 2 1/2 Tbsp. brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp. paprika
- 1 Tbsp. salt
- 1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1 tsp. dry mustard
- 1 tsp. cumin
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- 1/2 tsp. black pepper
- 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce (homemade or purchased)
- 2 (3.25 oz.) packages of Signature Russets Mashed Potatoes
Instructions
- Combine your seasonings in a large plastic container with a lid.
- Add the 1/2 of the chicken, put the lid on well and shake to season the chicken.
- Repeat with remaining chicken.
- Lightly spray your slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray and arrange 1/2 of the chicken in a layer in your slow cooker.
- Drizzle 1/2 of the BBQ sauce over the chicken and repeat.
- Smooth the sauce across the top of the chicken with the back of a metal spoon.
- Cover and cook on low for 6 hours.
- Prepare Idahoan Signature Russets Mashed Potatoes according to the package instructions.
- Serve your chicken with mashed potatoes and a fresh steamed vegetable.
- Enjoy!
