As a busy mom of four children, I sometimes struggle to find the time to always take care of myself the way I should. I am usually last on my list. I go through the same routine everyday and some days I just feel a little worn out. One thing I do make sure to do everyday is have a good breakfast. I truly believe that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and that starting the day out good helps you to have a good day.
Post Great Grains Cereal shows you that the ingredients you put inside can help you feel and look great on the outside! Post Great Grains Great Grains has nutrition you can see and brings whole foods from the field to your bowl for a nutritious breakfast. Less processed ingredients like whole grain flakes from actual wheat berries, as well as real fruit and nuts, come together in their tasty and nutritious cereals. Rather than grinding their wheat into flour and then stamping it into uniform flakes, Great Grains carefully cracks or steams the whole wheat berry, which helps to lock in full flavor and nutrients. All of the varieties of Great Grains have at least 30 grams of whole grains per serving and are a heart healthy way to start the day.
When I wake up in the morning I like to pour myself a bowl of Great Grains Protein Blend Cinnamon Crunch. I love the multi-grain flakes, the nutty crunch and the warm cinnamon flavor with a serving cold milk. This delicious, high protein cereal gives me energy to start my day. After my cup of coffee, I usually hop on my treadmill for a short run and feel great. Back to School is a busy time of year, but if you start your mornings right, you will feel better through out the week too!

Great Grains recently surveyed 1,000 women Nationally to ask “what makes you great.”
Women reveal why getting older feels great: 73 percent of women have reinvented themselves after turning 40. In fact, 80% of women love themselves more than they did 10 years ago. Most commonly, women who say they’ve reinvented themselves say they have improved their health (50 percent), found a new passion (42 percent), and changed their career (23 percent). They know better than ever that it’s never too late to make a change.
Self-improvement is at the top of most to-do lists – and powerful women are at the head of the movement. 93 percent of women feel they’ve improved some aspects of themselves in the past 10 years – most commonly their confidence (54 percent), their resilience (39 percent), their courage (35 percent), and their assertiveness (33 percent). Women know the first step to empowerment is being your own best friend. 83 percent of women think the greatest obstacle to reaching their full potential is what they think of themselves, rather than what others think of them.
I do feel that focusing on what you think of yourself as oppose to what others think of you is the greatest obstacle most women have when it comes to their own self esteem. As a normal person and a blogger, sometimes people don’t like what you have to say, they don’t like your recipes or they just don’t like you. That’s okay, because not everyone is going to like you, but sometimes mean spirited comments can hurt my feelings. My mother always taught me that if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say it at all. I try to live by that rule everyday because I would hate to hurt someone else’s feelings and put them down. Unfortunately, we live in a world were there are people who empower themselves by saying or doing hurtful things to others to make themselves feel better or to feel superior. As I’ve grown older, I have learned to not let what others think make me feel insecure or bad about myself.
As a mother of two young daughters, I never want them to let anyone make them feel badly about themselves and I try my best to strengthen their confidence everyday. We talk about what they love about themselves and what makes them special and unique. I sometimes have to remind myself of what makes me great. I am proud of myself because I am a good wife and mother to my children. I am there for them when they need me and I encourage them. I love people wholeheartedly and help people whenever I can (a wonderful trait I got from my mother 🙂 ). I am caring, nurturing and kind. I do love myself and choose to spend my time loving those who love me and try not focus on those who do not. At the end of the day it’s my love for my family and their love for me that’s most important.
I hope you found the “What Makes You Great” Video and survey result inspiring. What makes you great?
